Message from "The Duggers"

So we've been a little busy lately. So, sorry you haven't heard from us. We are working on changing the website around to post-wedding. It's so weird. This site was to follow us along our journey of us getting married. Now were finally married! Now you get to follow us on the rest of our lives together. You don't have to hear about what we booked for the wedding, or what we bought, or colors, etc., etc., etc., haha. We feel like now we have our lives back. Danny had time to mow the grass today. Dana had time to vacuum. Yeah, you don't want to know how long it's been. We have even watched a movie this weekend. Woohoo! So, we need to get back to the Colts game. We will write more soon. GO COLTS!

It wasn't my plan, but this turned into a Thankful Thursday post

Well, some of you may have heard we had more bad luck! I think I had the scariest 8 minutes of my life. To make a long story short. 3 Black men driving a 2000-ish silver Monte Carlo came to our house Tuesday at about 9:50am (please make note of this and watch for their car). One of them knocked on the door and it startled me, so I didn't answer the door, but I had Danny on the phone. We have had some weird things happen at this house, so I didn't think to call 911. I was upstairs watching them through the window. Maybe 5 minutes later, I heard one of those sounds that you know exactly what it is when you hear it. Someone kicked the back door in, it swung back and put a hole in the wall. Immediately the security alarm went off. I didn't know this at the time, but it looks as though they ran off as soon as the alarm sounded. Since I didn't know that, I grabbed my phone, called 911, and ran and hid in the closet. It was about 8 minutes from me calling 911, the cops getting to the house, searching the house, and them coming to get me. I think it was really like 12 hours! But my cell phone says the call was 8 minutes long. Sure the heck didn't feel like it! So I was hiding thinking someone was in my house and they were going to find me and take me. When the alarm goes off, the company calls Danny. So I am so lucky he did not have them disarm it, I am so lucky that I called him when the men were at the house earlier. Danny was at the hospital with his mom and they said he couldn't leave, so he called almost everyone he knew to come check on me. Including my uncle who lives in Kokomo....Danny must really have been freaking out to call someone an hour away, haha. My laptop was sitting right there on the table, my purse was on the kitchen counter. That is why I think the alarm went off and they ran. They could have easily gotten away with alot! I am so lucky to be alive, and we are so lucky that just the back door needed a little bit of work done to it. Then I'm thinking, what else is going to happen to us!!!????

Well, hopefully our luck has changed. Danny ordered an alarm pad and siren for the upstairs which is costing $375, which is alot of money right now, but we just so happened to get a check in the mail for $170, and $200 from his parents. So we can definately afford it now. Carnival called offering us to upgrade our room for $200. So that $200 was a gift from his mom to do that upgrade. I called our travel agent and he let us upgrade for $20!!!!

Maybe someone has been testing our relationship (and my sanity). If it weren't for Danny I think I would be having some serious mental couseling. We have had some rough things to go through this year. He is my better half. He makes me a stronger person. I am so lucky to have him.

I am thankful for Graydon, who rushed over to check on me and let Danny know that I was ok. Thankful for Danny Stahl who fixed our door. Hopefully if someone kicks our door in again, their foot is going to break!!!! Also thankful for Ellen who let me come to her house at 7:30am because I was afraid to be alone. And, very thankful to have people that care about us.

On a more positive note: We are getting married in 1 week! I am soo excited!
