I'm sorry this home is SOLD!

Not sure where I left off with our home buying...Sunday we met with Beazer to discuss building. So we went to look at their model. To our surprise, the model was for sale. And it was b-e-a-u-tiful! So tonight we met with the Beazer mortgage people to get preapproved and to see what they could offer us. So then we took that info to our mortgage guy that we have been working with (Spectrum Mortgage) over the past few years. He offered us better. So we locked in at 5% tonight. They said we will close in about 45 days. Since this home was a model home, it will kind of be treated as if we built the home. So here in the next week we will walk the house and point out anything that we want them to fix. It has never been lived in, only used as a demo home. So just thinking back, the only things I noticed that will need to be fixed are just a couple of scuff marks and they still need to install the garage door opener....and I think that's it. Then they will give us a paint kit to touch up things on our own for later use.

The price has been dropped a couple of times, and we have found out that a few people have been watching it. I guess the price dropped it's final time this past weekend and we were the first to get to it. Since then, people have been calling and stopping by asking to see it. The Beazer people, say no, I'm sorry this house is SOLD!!!!

SO, we are still in the first stages of purchasing this home. It is not ours yet, so I'm still not getting my hopes up, but it doesn't seem as though there will be anything standing in our way.

Wedding Rehersal Dinner

This is my first blog. I hope i do this right. Today I booked our rehersal dinner. I have been procrastinating but finally got it done. Most people probably think its way too early to book for Sept 10th. We dont. I was given this responsibility a while ago. So today i decided i needed to do it. I was nervous but it was easy. I should have done it when Dana asked me to, but like I said I was nervous. Hard to beleive...since I like to talk alot. I just dont like to talk about anything that i dont understand.

Wedding Bands

We ordered our wedding bands today. I can't wait until we finally get them. We went into the store today for my usual ring inspection. She said there is a big sale in May, so we can order our rings now, and then pick them up in May with a discounted price. I love discounts! So our rings will basically be on hold until May.

We have an appointment tomorrow with Denise to look at more houses. We are also going to look at West-port homes. This is who we have thought about building with. So this will be exciting.

Spring Break 2009

I'm home from Nashville, Tennessee. I went for 4 days with 2 friends from work. We had a great time. Nice getaway. We toured the Jack Daniel's Distillery, did some shopping, toured downtown Nashville in a Duck (I will go in detail later, haha), dodged a tornado, and the best part of all...relaxed in the pool and hot tub.

(above picture) We went on a tour of downtown in this old vehicle that also looked like a boat. The first part of our tour we drove through the town, then the last part of our tour our car jumped into the Cumberland river.

Everything Happens for a Reason

As you know, we have gone on a couple of house shopping trips. Well, we found a house that was "nearly" perfect for us. So we made an appointment for tomorrow for my parents to see the house. Most of you who know me (Dana) well, you know that I take my dads opinion seriously. So I needed his approval, haha. Well, we got a call from our realtor, Denise, today. She said that this house has been on the market for 17 days, but 7 days ago someone made an offer. So it sounds like their realtor is being a little shady and hoping for a higher offer. I guess I can't blame them. So, Denise said if it was up to her she wouldn't mess with it, but it was our decision. I said I didn't wasnt to mess with it either. I leave for vacation Saturday, so I don't want to stress about the house while I'm gone. So we said everything happens for a reason! Denise is going to keep this house on a "watch" and let us know if there are any changes.

Home Shopping

Well, we just finished day 2 of our house hunting. It's been going well. We found 2 houses that we liked today and 2 houses yesterday. But there is 1 that is really standing out to us. It's exciting! Were going to keep looking though. There are some small things that I would like to have in a home and this 1 house doesn't have it. So I'd like to see if we can find something that is "almost" perfect for us.

Spring is here!

I have to say, I feel like I have never been so ready for spring. This weekend I saw the pool company getting our community pool ready. Danny said it should be open next week. I can't wait!
